Happy New Year 2016

This year I had the pivalate of photographing the London Fireworks display on behalf of London & Partners and Visit London.

It was an epic journey trying to find a suitable location to shoot from, but Methodist Central Hall offered the perfect location. I had never been there before and took it on faith and a preview from Google Earth that it would be great, and it was.

I had to arrive on location early and ushered up to the top of the roof dome out of the way of the BBC and the Bryan Adams concert that was being organised.

I had a superb view of Big Ben and The London Eye for the photos. I had to wait a few hours before midnight and was grateful for the thermos of soup I had brought with me as it was really cold up there in the night.

But I did have plenty of time to set up my tripods, camera kit and prepare for the spectacle that was approaching.

I would like to give a special thanks to Mark Cheetham at Ricoh for lending me the 645z to shoot with and SRS Microsystems in Watford for their assistance in the project.
